34. “Second Visit Since
1962″ The Giants
seldom play at Yankee
Stadium. Let’s see, they
were at Old Yankee
Stadium in 1962 with
Willie Mays and in 2002
with Barry Bonds. First
time at the new ballpark.

36. “Yaz Unveiled”
The highlight for the
final 2013 regular
season game at Fenway
Park was the unveiling
of the new statue
honoring Red Sox Hall of
Fame left fielder
Carl Yaztremski. Yaz
also made the
ceremonial first pitch
to complete his day.
A great day for Boston
fans ended with a win by
the first-place Red Sox.

37. “Sunny Sonny
Night” A’s rookie
starting pitcher
Sonny Gray made it a
good night for the
raucous crowd in
Oakland. The fans right
now are the loudest for
the entire game of any
crowd in the major
leagues. Great fans in a
not-so-great ballpark.

39. “First Time Here
Since Babe Ruth in
1918″ Thanks to
Alan Gerofsky, I saw my
first postseason game at
Fenway Park, and it was
an historic event. The
Red Sox won their first
World Series at home
since 9/11/1918 when
they beat the Cubs 2-1
in Game 6 of the
World Series with
Babe Ruth playing left
field as a defensive
replacement at the end
of the game. This is the
final nail in the coffin of
the Curse of the
Bambino. Alan and I
together saw the Sox
take the championship
in Denver in 2007. We
are two for two in final
World Series games.
