The replica of the Fort

inspired the National

took that time 200 years
ago with the original
flag. This season a fan of

14. “In Memoria Di
Zio Domenico” Nine
members of the
Aspromonte family were
joined by nine friends in
a suite that is a one-
game-a-year season-
ticket-holder perk for
Mark Aspromonte. We
gather to keep alive the
memory of Dan’s and
Mark’s Uncle Dominick,
who served in the Navy
with my dad during
World War II. Dad was in
a nearby foxhole when
19-year-old Dominick
died in action in 1943.
In 2001, Dad sent a
letter to the editor of the
Durango Herald and was
able to contact the last
family members who
knew Dominick. Now the
Aspromonte and Jones
families are linked forever.

Giants did something
special for season-ticket

before she misses at
least three months this
season, so four of us
were on the field for
batting practice. It was
all set up my Nadja’s
daughter Tiffany with a
call to Giants employee
Cindy Hernandez. The
Giants manager,

could not have been

around New England to
see Derek Jeter play one
last time at Fenway Park.
Too bad but he took the

early March Spring

of the players having a

Winning Run” The
Giants scored three runs
without base hits. #1 on a

“HI NADJA, THIS ONE’S

SECTION 318” and was
surrounded by the seat

Giants had to win and they

required an inability to

bad throw on a bunt.

Tonight the Giants scored
the tying run and eventual

throws. The Giants have
strong Mojo going for

THE PENNANT!!!!!!!!”
I saw my first pennant-

thought of the famous
call on the radio by

four times, “THE GIANTS

Travis Ishikawa, a mid-

42. “The Worst World
Series Flag Team Ever”
Tiffany Fechter and I were
members of the first pre-
game flag team that had
the huge flag come apart
on the field. Sections were
connected by plastic clasps
and when they started
breaking as the flag was
unfurled, the loss of
tension caused “runners”
like me to fall underneath
the flag. I looked up and
saw red and white stripes.
I had been back-pedaling
when I fell. Tiffany didn’t
fall because she wisely ran
forward. Thus she can be
seen in the photo in Sports
Illustrated holding what
the magazine called the
“freak” flag.

43. “Bochy’s
Comeback” Down two
games to one in the World
Series, losing 4-1 in the
third inning against a team
with a dominant bullpen
and rain coming down,
there was little reason for
hope except if Manager
Bruce Bochy could regain
his Mojo from 2010 and
2012. Ten runs later
Bochy looked like a genius
again. The rain stopped
and Giants fans had
renewed hope. After all,
the starting pitcher
tomorrow will be World
Series dominator
Madison Bumgarner.

44. “World Series
King Bum” He really
lived up to his hype as a
World Series ace when
Madison Bumgarner threw
a complete-game four-hit
shutout to lower his career
World Series-record
Earned Run Average to a
miniscule 0.29. It
reminded me of when I
saw in 2010 the rookie
Bumgarner shut out the
Rangers in Texas in World
Series Game 4. So, it was
nothing new for the man
fans call “Bum.” I saw a tee
shirt that said on the front
“Posey for President” and
on the back “And Bum for
VP.” The order of that
ticket may be changing.
