My baseball roots are interlocked with my childhood roots in Napa. That’s where I really came to appreciate the game along with the kids with whom I grew up. My ballparks travels have helped me to re-establish ties with long-ago friends as well as to find a new generation of fans through my brother Larry, nephew Kenny and niece Katelyn Jones, because they still live in the area. This module presents fans who attended a high school in the Napa Valley of California. Here they are –Â young, old and in between. Fans from my childhood area. Many were living in Napa when the Giants arrived from New York in 1958 and when the A’s arrived from Kansas City in 1968, and many were born after those events and have been lifelong fans of those two Bay Area teams. It’s a Heinz 57 variety-type group with a former National League batting champion, a Superior Court Judge, working attorneys, a television reporter, a film producer, and both those just starting careers to those whose professional careers have ended. I hereby present fans with roots in the Napa Valley.
